5 things temp chefs love about CJUK

Read on to find out why our chefs love being part of the CJUK brigade and see if it sounds like we're a good fit for you.

Flexible hours

One of the best things about working with us is the flexibility you experience in your working schedule.

After you register with us and we have you on our books, we'll get to know you personally so we can understand your situation and what kind of work you prefer.

This might be around the type of setting you like to work in, what kind of kitchen environment you thrive best in, your preferred geographical location, or how often you want to be working.

This gives you the ultimate freedom to set your own schedule and never feel obliged to take a job that isn't right for you.

Payment for all the hours you work

As a CJUK chef, you will usually be on our PAYE system and we'll work closely with you and your site manager to ensure you're paid for all the hours you work.

Your hourly rates will be agreed upfront and we'll keep in regular contact to ensure you're taking all of your breaks and getting paid for any overtime you pick up outside of your contracted shift pattern.

Work-life balance

We strongly believe everyone needs a healthy work-life balance, and we make sure our chefs take time for themselves and prioritise their mental health.

Many of our chefs like to travel, spend time with their families, or explore other hobbies and passions outside of the kitchen. When they worked in permanent employment, they struggled to fit this in with their demanding careers, so they love being able to experience a more balanced lifestyle as a relief chef.

Holiday pay

Our chefs accrue holiday pay for every hour they work.

This means that when you work with us, you will be able to take paid holidays or extended breaks in between jobs without worrying about money.

Variety

Our chefs love the variety of life at CJUK.

As part of our brigade, you could be sent out on a multitude of placements across the UK, building your skillset in different cuisines, equipment, and techniques.

This broadens your horizons, keeps life interesting, and gives you plenty of interesting and impressive work to add to your CV.
